New Mexico House of Representatives

33 GOP Representatives is the most in state House of Representatives since 1929

Santa Fe – An historic beginning to the 50th New Mexico Legislature as 12 new Republican representatives are sworn in.  These new members bring the total number of Republicans serving in the House to 33, the highest since the 1929 session. Rep. David Doyle is looking forward to serving District 23. “It is my honor to serve District 23 and the State of New Mexico.  I encourage all of my constituents to please come visit me during the session.  You can visit my office in the Roundhouse in room 206A, or call my office to arrange a meeting at 505-986-4249.  We face many challenges and your voice on the many issues we face is important to me.” (Please enter your email below to receive Representative Doyle’s Newsletter)

Last November, voters elected 11 new Republicans to the Legislature:

  • 8 of them defeating Democrats, including Representative David Doyle from District 23
  • 3 replacing outgoing Republicans
  • 1 appointed to replace former Rep. Keith Gardner

Representative Donald Bratton (Hobbs, Dist. 62) was elected in December to serve as the House Minority Floor Whip. “There are some hard decisions ahead,” says Bratton, “but each one of these new representatives will help us get New Mexico back where it needs to be.”
